Yesterday the final day of UNSEEN, a great exhibition of Photo-Art in Amsterdam. A mix of landscapes, portraits and impressive technical skills.

As of today, on several locations in the City the Photo Festival continues.

Vincent van Gogh: A Dahlia Portrait

Flower portrait

At the Museumplein in Amsterdam, a great portrait will be build tomorrow!

It concern a 8 by 8 meter tableau of 50.000 dahlia flowers, presenting a self portrait of Vincent Van Gogh.

The event is part of the memorial events concerning the passing of this great artist 125 years ago.

The dahlia’s that will be used, grow on the birthplace of Van Gogh, the small village of Zundert.
Zundert is also the village where the annual Flower Parade takes place, this year’s theme is of course: Life and work of Vincent Van Gogh.

The Flower Parade will take place in the weekend of September 6 and 7.

Portret in bloemen

Morgen zal op het Museumplein in Amsterdam een prachtig kunstwerk worden gebouwd! Een dag op later, woensdag 29 juli, zal dit wel voltooid zijn.

Het betreft een tableau van 8 bij 8 meter dat bestaat uit 50.000 dahlia’s, een representatie van een zelfportret van Vincent van Gogh.
In verband met de 125e sterfdag van Van Gogh is dit een van de evenementen die plaatsvindt dit jaar.

De dahlia’s die gebruikt worden komen uit de geboorteplaats van de kunstenaar, Zundert.

Op 6 en 7 september zal het jaarlijkse bloemencorso van Zundert ook in het teken staan van leven en werk van Van Gogh.



TRIP : PAN Amsterdam

This weekend you are still able to visit the Dutch Antiques, Fine Art and Design Fair PAN Amsterdam. We went there yesterday afternoon and of course I enjoyed the collections and the atmosphere. As I used to be exhibiting there myself, it’s quite familiair ground!

Concertgebouw : Bernard Haitink

Fantastic evening yesterday at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam!

Brahms performed by the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, directed by Bernard Haitink with a special performance by Emanuel Ax.

The Concertgebouw Building is like a Musical Museum. It has been build in the years 1881-1888.

In 2013 the Concert Hall became the Royal Concert Hall.

Magical Africa : Exhibition Amsterdam

Interesting exhibition at the Nieuwe Kerk in the centre of Amsterdam is called Magical Africa, featuring African Masks and Sculptures.
